If only I could make that kind of tangible progress with my work!

Tiiiiiimmmmmbbbbbbbeeeeeeer!
We had a tree removed from our garden today. Man it was impressive, although it was chucking it down with rain the progress was so rapid. The tree became a pole in about 45 minutes and then a few hours later there was a nice pile of logs and a truck full of chippings.

DIY UPDATE!
Thanks to lots of hard work (including grouting tiles at 2am on Saturday morning) and some major help from Jon we have made real progress in the new house this weekend!
We have a new shower and we've decorated and moved into the main bedroom! The best thing about this is that I should now be able to get up and get ready in the morning without having to go into every single upstairs room :-D
I also manged to sqeeze in some hedge trimming, hedge removal, grass cutting and tree felling ;-)
I love it when a plan comes together - although this particular plan has made me very tired.

Ouch!
I have rabies and it hurts! Ok, so technically I have just had a rabies jab to stop me getting real rabies but combined with the hepatitis jab I had in my other arm I have to admit I feel quite odd and my shoulders both ache like crazy.
It's weird though because this is my second set of jabs (all in preparation for Namibia) and the last ones didn't cause me any problems at all, hmmm.

9 hours!
Yep, that's how long it took me to fit a cat flap today! I started out at 9am and finished about an hour ago. I'm not useless you understand it's just that having started with the cat flap, I got to the stage of needing to cut a hole in the door and realised that I had no idea where my jigsaw was.
I therefore decided to sort out the garage and all the moving boxes in it so that this didn't happen again when I was in the middle of some other DIY job. This combined with the numerous distractions (mainly to lop stuff in the garden with the new loppers I bought yesterday) and suddenly Sunday is nearly gone and I'm exhausted. Mind you, the cat flap is done and so are loads of other jobs :-)

Connected at last...

Hurrah! Our broadband has finally been activated and so we're back online :-)
No time to use it though as today I plan to cut the grass, trim the hedges, cut down some shrubs, sort out the garage, put in a cat flap, change the locks, strip wall paper in the main bedroom, paint the ceiling ...
If I'm honest I'm not sure if I'll get it all done ;-)

Technical difficulties
I know the new and exciting blog isn't very exciting but we've got no broadband at the moment and I'm permanently unpacking boxes, so blogging has had to take a back seat.
This should be resolved very soon.

Yesterday's date wasn't only mathematically special on account of it's sequential nature, it was also Ellen birthday!
Happy Birthday 'the wife' ;-)

Moving day
Well the movers have been here since 8.30 as promised and things seem to be going to plan so far. The only weird thing is that I have nothing to do! As anyone who knows me will know this is like torture! I'm sitting in the garden reading the paper and all I can think about is when they'll be done upstairs so I can go and clean.
I think I have issues :-s

Farewell Plantsman
Well this is it, our final day in Ellen's house. The removals guys arrive at 8:30 tomorrow and all being well we will be in our new place by early afternoon. It's been a fantastic house for us and we have loads of great memories. Hopefully the next place will live up to our expectations, once we've done a couple of hundred hours of DIY that is!

Procrastination
I'm supposed to be sorting out the house ready for our move BUT I have just found out I can post on my new blog from my phone!
How cool is this!
I'm such a geek
I've been playing around with this new blog, on my new MacBook since 7am this Saturday morning. Ellen is definately about to move from finding this 'quite amusing' to 'quite annoying' as I tend to be very quiet whilst getting my geek fix and so it's time for some breakfast and scintillating conversation.

Whadyfink?
So, although I love the look of the iWeb Mac blog, it is expensive to run and actually quite limited functionality wise. Whereas, blogger from Google is free and very functionally rich.
As a result I'm trying out both, this is blogger and at www.fernau.co.uk/blog2 you can find the iWeb version.
It would be great to have any thoughts, either email me or leave a comment and maybe I'll manage to decide.
